Our Residences
Residenza Italia is a seniors affordable housing project for Seniors at 1109 Hamilton Road in London, Ontario. It has 52 units and was completed in November of 2011. Residenza Italia was the first collaboration between Residenza Affordable Housing (formerly Italian Seniors Project) and Nicholson Sheffield Architects Inc. The project’s three-storey entry block gives way to a six-storey building, stepping down the slope of the site from the road.
The building includes generous amenity areas, a common room, kitchen, and a rooftop patio, all designed to help foster a sense of community for the residents of the building. The project was awarded a City of London Urban Design Award and Don Smith Commercial Building Award- Multi Unit Buildings from the London St. Thomas Association of Realtors in 2013.
Residenza Ortona is the second affordable housing complex completed by Residenza Affordable Housing (formerly Italian Seniors Project) in collaboration with Nicholson Sheffield Architects. The 60-unit apartment building at 1090 Hamilton Rd. was completed in September of 2020 and is open to tenants of all ages, with a particular focus on housing Canadian veterans and adults with physical disabilities.
The building includes two large indoor amenity rooms, a large common kitchen, and two outdoor common patios. All common areas are fully accessible and 19 of the 60 units are fully barrier free, or barrier-free adaptable. Residenza Ortona was awarded the Don Smith Commercial Building Award – Multi Family Community from the London St. Thomas Association of Realtors in 2021.
Residenza Victoria will be the third affordable housing complex built by Residenza Affordable Housing designed by Nicholson Sheffield Architects. This 184-unit apartment building at 88 Colborne St. is projected to be complete in 2027 with a particular focus on housing Canadian veterans and adults with physical disabilities.
The building will include units that range in affordability with some at market rent and others at affordable rates. The mixed-rent apartment building is open to tenants of all ages and will include a large indoor amenity room, a large common kitchen, and two outdoor rooftop patios. All common areas will be fully accessible.
